MIG & TIG Robotic Welding
Robotic welding brings precision, quality control, and high production. Two of the most common methods on the market right now are metal inert gas (MIG for short) and tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding. MIG utilizes a feeding wire system, this wire is continuously fed throughout the entire process. It acts as a filler that helps bind the two metals being worked together! Instead of using wire as a filler material, TIG welding instead relies on sending a current through the two objects, heating and fusing them together in the process.
There’s a general, easy to follow rule of thumb when it comes to deciding between MIG and TIG: MIG is often better larger, thicker metals and it often a quicker weld to complete as well. TIG is better when working with smaller metal parts, as the process lends itself better to precision work.
Spot Welding
On the other hand, spot welding is an older, popular form. Compared to MIG and TIG , it is extremely cost effective and efficient, being one of the quickest forms on the market! However, spot welding does not hold up nearly as well to MIG and TIG when it comes to durability and strength.
