Sheet metal fabrication is a multi-step process, different industries and services require products that are built to accomplish different goals. While intricate, detailed cutting is a huge part of the fabrication process, angle processing allows us to shape sheet metal into the perfect dimensions for the job! There are a couple of different methods of going about angle processing, but one of the most common processes for it is known as bending. Bending sheet metal is a process you need to leave to a trusted professional. Many sheet metal fabrication companies try to offer the full slate of fabrication services when they only have the proper equipment and qualifications to handle a few steps of the process, its vital to work with a certified and experienced group of contractors to ensure your sheet metal needs are met in full. General Saw Company has handled sheet metal cutting, bending, and fabricating across Central Florida with over 30 years of experience in the industry!
Sheet Metal Bending
Creating angles in sheet metal is usually accomplished through the process of sheet metal bending. Sheet metal bending is the process of using force and applying it to sheet metal in order to bend it into the desired shape. The equipment used to go through this process is known as a press brake machine; the two parts responsible for the bending process on this machine are known as the punch and the die. The sheet metal is held by the machine in between the punch and die; the desired angle is created by pressing the punch into the sheet metal. Different angles can be created by driving the punch into the sheet metal with differing strengths.
Our equipment allows us to achieve the utmost precision when it comes to forming precise angles for your project. We have access to the best pressbrake machinery in the industry and we utilize it to create dynamic, functional sheet metal products for our clients daily.
